Abstract

President Charles O. Rutledge convened the AACP Board of Directors at 8:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 1997 at the Westin Hotel. The following Board members were present: Charles O. Rutledge (President), Hugh F. Kabat (President-elect), Mary Anne Koda-Kimble (Immediate Past President) (July 10 session only), Albert A. Belmonte (Council of Deans), Barry L. Carter (Academic Sections Coordinating Committee), William F. McGhan (Council of Faculties), George R. Spratto (Council of Deans), Glen L. Stimmel (Council of Faculties), and Richard P. Penna (Executive Vice President). Not present were: Ina L. Calligaro (Council of Faculties) and Victor A. Yanchick (Council of Deans). Invited guests of the Board were: American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education President Robert M. Bachman, American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education editor George H. Cocolas, incoming Board members, Bruce A. Berger (Council of Faculties), Jordan L. Cohen (President-elect designate), Bruce L. Currie (Academic Sections Coordinating Committee), Gary E. Isom (Council of Faculties), and Kenneth B. Roberts (Council of Deans). AACP Staff included Mary B. Bassler, Mark D. Boesen, Susan M. Meyer, Kenneth W. Miller, Sue Grabill Morse, and C. Edwin Webb. Other guests were Richard Bertin (Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties), Newton F. Crenshaw (Eli Lilly), Dick R. Gourley (Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties), L. Cliff Littlefield (Texas), Daniel A. Nona (American Council on Pharmaceutical Education), Robert L. Seib (Eli Lilly), and Jeffrey Wadelin (American Council on Pharmaceutical Education).
